THE SHORT ANSWER

Brand authority in AI-mediated search is the recognizable credibility of an organization or expert across its own information and legitimate external references. Build it through accurate and consistent identity, real expertise, transparent authorship, primary evidence, sustained topical depth, reputable mentions and reliable maintenance. Do not invent an entity score or assume one page, markup field or brand mention proves authority.

Authority is wider than one optimized page

A strong page can answer a question, but its claims gain context from who produced them, what evidence exists, how consistently the source covers the subject and whether independent sources recognize the contribution. Authority is an assessment, not a property that a publisher can declare into existence.

Keep organization names, expert identities, product facts and contact information consistent where accuracy matters. Explain the author's actual role and relevant experience rather than adding generic credentials.

Use entity language carefully

Search and knowledge systems can associate names, organizations, places and topics across documents. That durable concept does not establish a single public ‘entity score’. Improve disambiguation through accurate names, relationships and evidence, then evaluate normal visibility rather than optimizing an imaginary number.

Appropriate structured data can express visible facts in machine-readable form. It should match the page and supported vocabulary. It cannot turn an unsupported identity or claim into authority.
