PRIVACY AT OPENSKOOL

Privacy, explained clearly.

How OpenSkool collects, uses and protects information when you read, subscribe, contact us or register for a Program.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to information handled through the OpenSkool website, its learning content, contact and community forms, newsletter and Program registration experiences.

It describes current practices in practical terms. New features such as accounts, assessments or community tools may require this policy to be updated before they launch.

Information you provide

The information we receive depends on what you choose to do. A contact enquiry may include your name, email, phone number, subject, message and area of interest. A community submission may also include your city, country, role, interests, preferred ways to participate and anything you add about yourself.

A Program registration currently asks for your name, email address, phone number and profession. A newsletter subscription asks for an email address and may include a first name when provided.

Analytics and technical information

OpenSkool uses Google Tag Manager to manage website measurement. Tags configured through it may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate device or browser details, referring pages and interactions with site features. The exact information depends on the measurement tags active at the time.

Our servers and service providers may also process routine technical information needed to deliver, secure and diagnose the website, such as request times, network information and error data.

How information may be used

  • Respond to questions, contribution proposals and collaboration enquiries.
  • Process Program registrations and send confirmations, joining details, schedule updates and other Program-related messages.
  • Send the OpenSkool newsletter to people who subscribe.
  • Understand how the website is used and improve its content, navigation, reliability and accessibility.
  • Prevent misuse, investigate technical problems and protect the service.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes where necessary.

Service providers

OpenSkool relies on service providers to operate the website. Vercel hosts and delivers the site. Resend processes contact, community, newsletter and Program email activity. Google Tag Manager manages measurement tags. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices as well as the arrangements under which OpenSkool uses them.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or in connection with a legitimate organizational change. We do not describe personal information as being sold through the current website experience.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for operational records, or to meet applicable obligations. Different records may therefore be retained for different periods. OpenSkool has not published a fixed retention schedule for every category.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures suited to the current service. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You can choose not to submit optional information. You can unsubscribe from newsletter messages using the option provided in those messages. Program and enquiry messages are transactional and are separate from newsletter consent.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Use the Contact page to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and handle it appropriately.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The date above shows the latest published update.

For a privacy question or request, contact OpenSkool through the Contact page and include enough context for us to understand the issue.
